Getting started

Add your first pet

Species, breed, birth month, and why we ask. (You can edit anything later.)

From the dashboard, tap Add pet. Heel asks for the bare minimum: name, species, breed (optional), and birth month. Everything else can be filled in later from the pet profile.

Why we ask for breed and birth month

Both feed the forecast: breed influences typical care cadence (e.g. dental cleanings, breed-specific screenings), and birth month anchors annual exam reminders. Neither is shared with anyone, and you can edit or delete them at any time.

Multi-pet households

You can add as many pets as you want on the free plan, but only one pet's ledger is active at a time. Switch from the pet menu in the top nav. Each pet keeps its own invoices, EOBs, policy, and forecast.
