How deductibles work in Heel

When the meter resets, what counts toward it, and how to verify the balance.

Your deductible is a per-policy-year meter. Heel tracks it for you on the Policy screen — you can see how much of it has been met, and how many days remain in the current policy year.

When the meter resets

On the anniversary of your policy start date. The exact date is on the Policy screen; if it's wrong, edit it there and the meter recalculates instantly.

What counts toward it

Eligible line items only. Excluded items, things your plan rejects, and the deductible itself never count toward each other.

When you write in, include:

  • What you were trying to do, and what happened instead

  • The invoice or EOB ID if it's about a specific document
  • Roughly when it happened (helps us find logs)
